Tutt’altro che convenzionale, Tomaso Marcolla, con la sua concretezza e astrattezza trasfigurata, ci suggerisce un percorso concettuale da intraprendere. Non per niente, una parte preponderante della sua produzione, quella che lo gratifica maggiormente con puntuali riconoscimenti internazionali, riguarda gli accostamenti tra immagini e simboli, tra fotografia e computer grafica, tra la varietà infinita dei mezzi di elaborazione digitale e il sentire estetico.
Fernab aller Konventionen gibt Tomaso Marcolla den Betrachtenden mit Gegenständlichkeit und transformierter Abstraktheit seinen besonderen konzeptuellen Weg vor. Nicht umsonst dreht sich bei einem Großteil seiner Arbeiten – eben jenen, die ihm immer wieder internationale Anerkennung eingebracht haben – alles um die Kombination und Gegenüberstellung von Bildern und Symbolen, Fotos und Computergrafiken, der unendlichen Vielfalt der digitalen Bearbeitungsmittel und Sinn für Ästhetik.
Tomaso Marcolla is anything but conventional. His transfigured concreteness and abstract work speak of his conceptual path. Hardly surprising as a large part of his production, the one which rewards him the most with regular international recognition, is all about bringing together images and symbols, photography and computer graphics, the infinite richness of digital processing tool and a feel for aesthetics.
